Building insulation is very important to create proper thermal efficiency, but as shown in the illustration above proper air sealing and air barrier is as important to reduce air leaks from and to the building.

Electric Distribution Panel. The left infrared image of a fuse panel with a single fuse overheating. The right image is a digital image of the same panel, no visible issue.

Flat Rubber membrane roof.  Left Infrared image shows moisture under roof membrane.  Right digital image does not show the problem

Left Infrared image shows missing ceiling insulation, Right digital image does not reveal any problems

Double glazed windows. Windows are collapsed on the center, reduced insulating value.

Infrared Image of concrete slab with radiant floor heat. Looking for leaks and distribution pattern.

Infrared image of improperly insulated walls with blown in cellulose insulation. The blown in insulation was not dense packed and over the years insulation settled causing a defective thermal barrier. Recommend adding dense packed blown in insulation where needed. Re-test with the infrared thermal camera.

Blower Door Testing of a Homes Air Leak and Need for Weatherization Sealing. With this system we are able to test the cubic feet of air infiltration per minute. This provides valuable information about the buildings air barrier and air changes.
